Sean and I have been in Ft Myers for 3 weeks now. Before we left Birmingham some people said we should keep up a blog so they will know what is going on while we are here. Well, we finally have one!
So in honor of our first post, I thought I would tell the story of why we came to Fort Myers.
If you are not familiar of how Sean and I met, then here is a very quick version: Sean was a part of the American Awakening ministry and they came to my home church. We met on the last day of their stay and hit it off. We got married in November of 2012.
Back in January of this year, Sean and I came to Fort Myers for the American Awakening Camp Meeting. Sean was asked to speak on his experience when he attended Zoe College. While we were in Fort Myers God pressed on both of our hearts that it is time for us to take the next step of our journey with Him. Move to Fort Myers, FL. If you know me, then you know this was definitely God because I had no intentions moving to Florida, ever. But we both knew we could not do what God called us to do in Birmingham. We wanted to move at the time but God guided us to wait to move after our lease was up in Birmingham. So, we waited seven months and we are now here, in Fort Myers, and we are very excited to be here!
We were asked to be on staff at Light at Fort Myers. This is a growing church so there is much to be done. Sean is head of the street evangelism as well as other parts of the church. I have stepped up to help with food for events for the church. We have already been quite busy with church activities. As the church grows we will have more duties. We are honored to be here in Ft Myers and to serve under Pastor Tommie Zito.
